In 2011, I produced a song titled “Skitzo” for Jarren Benton that went viral. Hopsin heard it and signed Jarren to his new record label in 2012 — called Funk Volume. I signed to Funk Volume shortly afterwards as an in-house producer and quit my job as a Taekwondo instructor.

And to anyone thinking “that’s a blessing, money is better than fame” - ur right. But I’m not talking about being famous, I’m talking about having options. Being in control. If I have to worry about my next check based on who hires me, that’s not freedom.
A producer could have a 10X platinum record and you still wouldn’t know who they are. If an artist does that, they’re mentioned in every news outlet on earth. There aren’t enough platforms out here that shed light on Producers, and that’s why y’all need to build your own.
