Being admitted to hospital is enormously disruptive for people's lives, they deserve intensive multidisciplinary help to turn things around and resume their lives as soon as possible. @CCQI_ recommendation supports this ambition.
@CCQI_ @RCPsychOldAge and @BPSOfficial @FPOPInpatients recommend 0.5 qualified clinical psychologist per ward. Services also feedback that @CQCProf also look at psychological provision on wards. #MDT #psychologicallyinformedwards #wow2018 #QNOAMHS

End of my first active week as CD and it’s both daunting and exhilarating. It feels like a privilege to be discussing our ambitions for care with such an experienced and dedicated team.

Sorry that conference on psychological best practice for older adult inpatients was cancelled today but pleased that our local service development event went ahead. They found the chapter on formulation extremely helpful. @SDexterSmith @FpopChair @natashadlord @ClinpsychLucy

BREAKING NEWS - we hear @Jeremy_Hunt is speaking at Kettering General Hospital at 12.30 tomorrow. He’s asked that the event not be publicised. So please don’t tell anyone who lives nearby.

Do I suffer with Alzheimer’s? Yes sometimes I do,but I do not fight it, I do not hate it, I live with it, I make adjustments to my life so that I can live as well as possible with it. The PCA explained why I was not a typical Alzheimer’s patient (1)

Virgin now has over 400 #NHS contracts but pays no tax in the UK. Your tax supporting the NHS ends up off shore, not back in the UK economy

If you love the NHS too, please consider following us and retweeting this. The NHS really needs your support right now, and the staff really deserve a morale boost this Christmas. Together we can increase awareness of key issues and show staff how loved they are. #MerryXmasNHS

No More Heroes:Kings Fund. Very good read but advising that involvement of medics in leading over other professions on basis they are more influential is self fulfilling and risks missing diversity of view
