97 years. What a life that continues to serve humanity well. I’m truly thankful for your fortitude, commitment to our “World House,” and faith, President Carter. Happy 97th birthday!

These two Justice icons—the notorious RBG and the trailblazer Sandra Day O’Connor—should have their statues in the U.S. Capitol. Over 250 guys do. Proud to introduce a bill this week with @lisamurkowski @SenatorSinema and @SenatorCollins to get this done.

Starting off the show with a few Dorothy Fields standards. Daughter of vaudeville star Lew Fields who coined the phrase "That was no lady - that was my wife" He did not approve of her vocation, saying "Ladies do not write lyrics." She retorted "I'm no lady-I'm your daughter!"

This Sunday, I’m thinking about the inspiring words of the great John Lewis, "You are a light. You are the light. Never let anyone – any person or any force – dampen, dim or diminish your light."

I’m excited about a new YouTube channel @foraymusic that’s presenting a lot of great content for musicians, educators, and folks wanting to be in the know! @neenahwi Charlie Christenson is the mind behind it all. I sat down with him for a chat, available 2morrow!

We’re here for an extraordinarily short period of time. Be kind. Smile often. Take your work seriously, while never forgetting the wonder of laughter. Be good to others. Be good to yourself. Find love and new adventure often. Leave the world better than what you were given.

Two female jazz artists share our jazz birthday tribute today. Born two decades apart they are pianist Loraine Geller and trumpeter Stacy Rowles. Loraine was a talented player (married to top saxophonist Herb Geller) who passed away too early.

In this country Viagra is covered by insurance without question, but birth control coverage is dependent upon the religious ideals of employers/institutions. If that sounds: - misogynistic - discriminatory - irresponsible - indicative of systemic sexism that’s because it is!

Brilliant King. Powerful King. This is my father at his most truth-telling, yet love-centered, self. Watch and share.

Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. It's a celebration of progress. It's an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible––and there is still so much work to do. https://t.co/5XCRdnk3iR
