If you don't STRONGLY condemn Hamas and what they did on Saturday - I don't want to work with you. On anything. Ever. This is a rational and professional decision - I simply don't trust your judgment
I am happy and excited to start my own lab next week

So we

who led the work and everyone who helped. Check it out.
This is the reality that MIT President wants to hide. A letter from Israeli & Jewish MIT students:
To all students at MIT,
Today, Jewish and Israeli MIT students were physically prevented from attending class by a hostile group of pro-Hamas and anti-Israel MIT students that

My personal experience was nothing but positive. I am Harvard faculty, known for being an Israeli and I was supported,hugged, and listened to by all the people around me. From faculty, trainees and administrators.
Don’t live in Twitter. It sucks. Our world is a better place.
Thank you BSF

Really, but really, outside my comfort zone!
today is the holocaust memorial day. This 1941 photo (was shared today during a ceremony by the Israeli president) made me stop everything and think about the many mothers that held their son's hand just before they were killed. What did they say? What could they possibly say??
Proud of my students Riley, Nancy, Amy and Alan for presenting their work today at HMS pathology retreat, and happy for Amy and Alan for winning best posters. A good day for the

Did you ever wonder about mitochondrial nutrient sensing? Well, then read this! I think they found a mitochondrial nucleotide sensing mechanism. mitoTOR? miTOR? Except of course it’s not “target of rapa” so maybe we need a new name… super cool either way!
Long thread. Stay with me.
I heard about teachers who chose to deal with the recent Hamas atrocities by talking with the kids about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This is wrong and hurts both the Palestinian legitimate struggle AND the innocent Israeli victims. See more...
This work was possible thanks to the support of the
@Revson_Fdn
and their Women in Science award!
Thank you for providing the support when I most needed it!

I think increasing the availability of personal mentorship to young female scientists (PhD level) by more senior female scientists might help, motivate, guide and inspire these bright young females and will encourage them to stick around.

One of our favorite projects :)
Such a cool integration of tools and creative thinking by Ryan Fame!
Metabolism in the ChP was also vastly different between day and night. In collaboration with Bory Petrova and
@KanarekNaama
we identified that more metabolites are in the oxidized state at night. CSF metabolites also change with Thyroid Hormone ⬆️ in CSF at night.[6/9]
When a researcher approaches the Metabolite Profiling Core about a project, step one is talking through the best approach, says Caroline Lewis: “They come to us & we have a discussion about what question they really want to answer.”

Today I celebrate the publication of the research paper I have worked hard to develop for the past 4 years. Next up, thesis defense- PhD here I come! Most importantly: I could not have done this without my family, friends, and lab mates. Congratulations, Kim Lab! 🎉🎉🎉

I’m deeply disappointed by the meek response by American academia leadership all around. The fear to say anything too strong, even in the face of pure evil, is not being progressive, it’s being wrong.

Our Pre-print is out, showing that FDX1 is an essential upstream regulator of protein lipoylation in human cells. This is mediated through direct binding of FDX1 to the lipoylating enzyme LIAS and not through Fe-S cluster regulation.

This is a fantastic work bridging cell cycle and nutrient sensing through allosteric regulation of a key enzyme in the pyrimidine synthesis pathway. So simple. Makes SO MUCH sense. Congratulations to the team.

Conclusion - what happened on Saturday was a pogrom motivated by a desire to kill Jews. Any connection between this event and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict diminishes the severity of these evil deeds and the depth of sorrow they brought but also hurts the Palestinians who
*To explain what that means, 800 casualties in Israel are equivalent to about 28,000 casualties in the US: imagine that. In one day. Civilians. And the numbers are still rising*.
