Disappointing to see a dear colleague’s grant terminated because of anti-DEI ideology. @lvilaMD has spearheaded understanding lung endothelial cell heterogeneity, discovering a novel lung endothelial cell, and has groundbreaking unpublished work directly impacted by this decision.
Yesterday, I got this from NHLBI.terminating my MOSAIC K99/ROO. I am appealing this decision but have very little hope that it will change anything. For perspective, the grant they terminated is on the mechanisms behind endothelial cell specification in the lungs

So excited the final version of my PhD work is out! We explored the chicken lung and found some pretty neat features unique to avian lungs 🫁🥚🐓. Many thanks to my colleagues @lvilaMD @ricnayk @PLwigale @rapoche Guolun and Jichao.
