It annoys me because I am the daughter, granddaughter and the great granddaughter of persecuted Jews who have fled from both eastern Europe and Yemen just for being Jewish. Not once has there been any aid or assistance from an international body for being a refugee.

They were migrant workers. They could have chosen to work in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan or any Arab country as slave Labour but chose Israel for a fair treatment and fair wage. On land which is most definitely not occupied.

Jews were not allowed to describe themselves as “Arabs” in these countries, Jewish or otherwise. They were just Jews (typically in derogatory terms). The ‘Arab Jew’ is a modern invention describing an equal coexistence which rarely existed.

No one stole anything. There have always been Jews in Israel. Many Jews fled Middle Eastern countries (including my family from Yemen) due to poor treatment. Don’t pretend history started in the 1930s with an influx of European Jews.
