Latest paper is online this month at @jlipidres! A perplexing observation with opposite phenotypes in vivo vs ex vivo led to an enhanced understanding of how secretion of hormonal FABP4 is regulated by sympathetic tone, independent of lipolysis.
Recent work by @KaceyPrentice, and fellow researchers demonstrate that secretion of FABP4 from adipocytes can be induced through sympathetic signaling, providing important clues into metabolic health and disease. Congrats to all involved! .

A new study from @sabriulkerctr by Kacey Prentice et al uncover yet another surprising mechanism of lipolysis-induced FABP4 secretion. In the absence adipocyte ATGL (ie no lipid breakdown), the brain can signal to promote secretion from fat cells.
