My amazing Mom, Linda Soltis, passed away this weekend after a battle with cancer. I am heartbroken.
She was beautiful and selfless, mother to me and my two sisters, loving wife of over 40 years, grandma to 5 little ones she loved with her whole heart. She will be so, so missed.
She is a senior leader in a hideously oppressive regime that imprisons and starves its people. She is complicit in these atrocities. She’s not Kate Middleton.
I never thought I’d be able to say this, but…life found a way! Baby Anderson is joining our family, due this summer. We are unbelievably thrilled and Wally can’t wait to have a little person to snuggle.
Welcome to the world, Ellie! Chris and I are so excited to announce the birth of our daughter, Eliana Christine Anderson. The name Eliana means “God has answered my prayer”. We love her so much, as does Wally!
In this clip, he is citing someone else’s position, not stating his own. I don’t want a single person who shared this clip to ever complain to me again about “oh why don’t facts matter anymore?”. Harris is choosing to lie here, period.
Kavanaugh chooses his words very carefully, and this is a dog whistle for going after birth control. He was nominated for the purpose of taking away a woman’s constitutionally protected right to make her own health care decisions. Make no mistake - this is about punishing women.
Trying to use the coronavirus situation to pass your party's long time wish-list is madness. It's like my husband trying to argue that we need to go out and buy a gaming PC in response to the crisis.
Evidently if you live in Alabama you can go get your vaccine and then DRIVE TALLADEGA IN YOUR CAR and this honestly sounds even better than the million dollar lottery thing Ohio is doing.
Great episode. Was all the things that make Thrones the best show on television. Action scenes and character moments both felt like vintage
#GoT
in the best way. Feeling much more confident heading into the end.

Last night, Wally ate most of an apple pie. He reached new heights, using a barstool to access the pie, which we had believed was well out of reach. (He’s fine today, if a little hungover.)
Either:
-Declare that it is important these days to seek the truth, to elevate quality journalism conducted with rigorous reporting practices.
Or
-Promote Fire and Fury for lolz.
Pick one. They are mutually exclusive.
In Midland City, Alabama, Steve Bannon goes after
@JoeNBC
, saying he got into better schools than Joe could have—Georgetown and Harvard. This might be the wrong place for that attack: Joe went to the University of Alabama.
NEW POLL:
@pewresearch
gives us a first glimpse into the political views of Gen Z. Turns out they’re just as left-leaning as the Millennials. GOP now has a TWO generation problem.
Four years ago, Eric Cantor lost his primary to Dave Brat and people were stunned. “Was this a one-off or does it mean something more about a rift between the GOP establishment vs GOP base?”
In a way, it was the opening scene of the whole saga we are currently living through.
A real thing that apparently really happened:
“Before he left the chamber, Romney passed Stiller a note: ‘I can’t believe you had the nerve to appear before this committee after you tried to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia.’”
Unbelievably sad. So young.
A reminder that the generation now fighting this war includes some so young they surely have no memory of 9/11, but nevertheless signed up to fight for our country.
If you’re a moderate Democrat consoling yourself by adding up the Buttigieg, Klobuchar, and Biden lines to convince yourself “we just need people to drop out to consolidate behind a non-Bernie”, remember the GOP in 2016.
Bernie is some people’s second choice, too, you know.
Fun fact: while Putin is being shielded by an umbrella, Croatia’s President is a 46-year-old conservative woman who is getting soaked and doesn’t seem to care
Hey, remember that time the National Enquirer ran a story alleging affairs between one of the President’s Republican primary opponents and a number of innocent women? I wonder if we’ll finally find out how that disgusting smear came to be.
"The old saw that young people would naturally grow more conservative as they age, or that their Democratic loyalties were an idiosyncratic response to Barack Obama’s unique personal appeal, has not held."
The new Pew report, or what I have been SCREAMING INTO THE VOID FOREVER?
None of our participants thought Biden was a strong leader.
None thought he’d be up to the task of being president through 2028.
But none would pick Trump over Biden if we wound up with a rematch.
Eleven disaffected Biden voters described a slate of frustrations with and criticisms of the president. They also said that they’d almost certainly vote for him again. “I’d definitely be voting against Trump or DeSantis.”
Our focus group for
@nytopinion
found the same thing: “Disapproving 2020 Biden Voters” who spent 85 minutes of a 90 min focus group complaining about Biden and saying they don’t think he’s fit to serve thru 2028…but the final 5 mins they say they’d pick him over Trump anyway.
And fwiw they’re not enthusiastic about the prospect of voting for Biden. It’s in a hypothetical matchup with Trump, in which case they consider Biden the so-called “lesser of two evils”
A lot of post-election analysis said "red states got redder, blue got bluer" but I think that's the wrong take. I'm struck by the way that suburbs in "red states" behaved politically a bit like their "blue state" brethren.
I spent three decades trying to impress my parents, and I don’t think I really succeeded until the day I was out walking with them and
@brithume
called my cell to pre-interview me for a show.
Tune in to

There are a lot of polls coming out today, tomorrow, and this weekend. Before they do, looking at the data today, even assuming the polls are right, there is still a path for Trump. It is narrow, but it is real.
Dana Perino’s show consistently brings on interesting guests to talk important topics and stories that aren’t covered elsewhere. She’s an absolute pro.
Elizabeth Warren couldn’t be more wrong, and any newsmaker should jump at the chance to be interviewed by
@DanaPerino
.
I’ve spent a decade preaching about the GOP crisis with young voters.
I’m here to tell you that, in the near-term, the GOP now has a much, much more pressing problem at the other end of the age range.
You can bet every Republican in the country is going to run on education in 2022 because of what happened in Virginia tonight. (Even if in reality education was just part of the picture and "education" is an umbrella for a hundred different sub-issues.)
Yet again I say: if you are one of my friends on the left promoting this garbage, I don’t ever, ever, ever want to hear you claim you “care about facts”. The NYT piece says curtains were ordered while Obama was still President. This is a partisan hit job.
Thrilled to announce that I’m joining the
@FoxNews
team as a contributor! Looking forward to bringing political and polling analysis to their coverage during an exciting election cycle!
Key group of unvaxxed ppl aren’t ideologues. They’re ppl who saw cases falling this spring, made a personal cost-benefit analysis of “seems like COVID’s not a big deal anymore and the shot seems like a hassle/scary.” That cost-benefit analysis changes with cases on the rise.
Jeff Zients says Tennessee has seen a 90% increase in first Covid-19 shots over the past two weeks, Oklahoma an 82% increase and Georgia a 66% increase.
I do not know what this golden retriever movie is that was just advertised during the debate, and I am not going to see it, because I do not need emotional terrorism in my life
Alright, next time maybe I WILL intentionally coordinate with female co-panelists. (Also: this is only possible because
@jaketapper
has lots of women on his show, which is a good thing.)
Kicked out of 10th grade for questioning communist ideology, and at 16, escaped: “Under the cover of darkness [he] swam across the Danube River, which separates western Slovakia from Austria.” And that’s just the beginning. Condolences,
@JonahNRO
. What a man, what a life.
The Biden/Bernie age gap in the Democratic Party continues to be absolutely WILD. Per latest
@QuinnipiacPoll
Biden wins 5x as many senior Dems as Sanders. Sanders meanwhile wins 17x (!!!) more under 35s than Biden.
Welcome to the world, Sophie!
We’re so excited to have her in our family, and I’m so lucky to be her mom. Her big sister Ellie is very curious about “baby” and Wally is extremely glad to have another princess.
And since so many of you follow me for Wally, let me just say that while my Mom was always a little nervous around dogs, she opened her heart to Wally. He knows I am sad and is being a very good boy, giving me lots of snuggles right now. 🐶💕
I can’t believe we are having another round of “Taylor Swift Politics” discourse but its definitely worth noting that the median Swift fan is not an 18 year old who is either semi-socialist or non-voting, but more likely a 34 year old with fairly normal/middle-of-the-road views.
Dismayed Republicans, when you assume young Republicans will one day right the ship and save the party, remember...they can’t if they’ve all left. My first piece ever for

@KSoltisAnderson
on unfounded Nikki Haley rumor: Even though she’s Republican, I hope those who consider themselves feminists, “regardless of political affiliation, will come out and condemn this disgusting episode”
Current polling averages in the Sun Belt states - FL, NC, AZ, TX, GA - all have Trump in striking distance. They are tied or within just a point or two. Not enough for me to say confidently which way they'll go. If they all go Trump, that's ALMOST enough...
I think this is something younger people who don’t really remember 9/11 don’t always realize. We all watched it live and didn’t know what would happen next. When the first tower fell, you knew you had just watched so many people die right before your eyes on television.
When the second plane hit, there was no doubt that it was not an accident. And here's the thing: Almost every American watched it happen on live t.v. 3/
Spring has always been a lie, guys. Every year, it’s the same: cold, rainy, with occasional isolated bursts of pretty before BAM it turns 90 and humid. Spring is a conspiracy pushed by Big Weather. Autumn reigns supreme.
On a day of joy and celebration there is also so much heartbreak. Please keep Andrew and Rachel - who said goodbye to their beloved baby girl last night - in your prayers today.
Final note: we have a boatload of polling data still to come out. So, this analysis only valid as of October 29 at 11:30 am eastern time. Exclusions may apply, offer not valid on previous purchases.
In 2016, emotion infiltrated analysis. Polling had the race as a 3-4 point race nationally, but emotionally a lot of people could not shake the feeling there was no way America would elect Trump and discounted chance it could happen.
This was what the age gap looked like during the 2006 “blue wave” and then the age breaks from last night. Those 18-29 year olds are now the 30-44 group. And what do you know...they didn’t turn into Republicans.
Wow. Senior White House official says admin officials were scheduled to meet with NoKo officials in Singapore last week to begin preparations for summit. Trump sent various individuals & NoKo never showed.
"They waited and waited, but the North Koreans never showed up."
If we all make it through this pandemic I look forward to the economics paper about the spike in demand for toilet paper stemming from...a disease that does not actually require toilet paper for treatment or prevention.
Nantz: after the weather delay, you came back and played an incredible round...what did you do during that hour long weather delay?
Hideki Matsuyama: I sat in my car looking at my cell phone
Relatable + legend.
God bless former VP Pence and his wife Karen as they leave the Capitol and enter a new chapter of their lives. God bless President Biden, VP Harris and their families as we all enter a new chapter of our nation’s history.
Brace for: “Ed Gillespie lost because he is too much like [the wing of the party I dislike], he would win if he were more like [my wing of the party].”
