And finally, I'm excited to explore some new ideas and continue working across a range of topics — including health and machine learning — through my consulting practice. If you want to talk about a project, please reach out! 3/3.

In this next chapter I know Nightingale will continue to thrive under the leadership of @nacsen! Thanks to our entire team, especially @oziadias and @m_sendhil for the opportunity and partnership, and to Nightingale's amazing partners. Working with you all was an honor. 2/3.

After 3 years, it's my last day @NightingaleOS. I'm deeply proud of our work to catalyze medical knowledge: today, a year since launch at #NeurIPS, the platform hosts 130 TB of data (including the largest breast cancer imaging dataset ever assembled) & has hundreds of users. 1/3.

Now more than ever it’s important to challenge this harmful narrative. It “keeps us from talking about what it really means to become a parent and has emboldened policymakers in the U.S., generation after generation, to refuse new parents, especially mothers, support they need.”.

This piece nails it. I’ve often thought the myth of the maternal instinct persists both to keep women from rising & because our society has no appetite for the raw realities of parenthood (see Frida ad being cancelled at the Oscars bc it wasn’t “gentle”) .

Really interesting to learn about the Turnaway Study, and to hear from someone who has made it her life’s work to examine the medical, economic, and social outcomes that many more will now face in a post-Roe world. Thank you for your work @Dianagfoster @ANSIRH.

Where’s the male outrage about Roe V Wade? At this point I need to see, hear, feel something beyond just sympathy.

Also: “I feel a certain amount of anger at lawmakers & some anger at Democrats & the administration that I voted in because that administration also bargained away paid leave, which was something that the Biden administration ran on.”. Thank you for naming this!.(cc @hanaschank).

“People were saying essentially, 'I can't be a mother, be an online school proctor and be a professional worker at the same time. It's just too much.' And so I think that anger, this care crisis, it predates the pandemic.”.⁦@agarbes
