It’s composed of a platinum-filled nitinol wire frame covered w expanded polytetrafluoroethylene making it softer & conformable compared w other mesh devices. After the ASSURED clinical study confirmed the efficacy & safety of the device, it received USFDA approval & EU mark 2/2.

We have successfully implanted Gore CARDIOFORM ASD in two patients.1) 13 years old adolescent w large ASD, treated w size 37E occluder.2) 33 years old woman w previous stroke & a PFO, treated w size 30 occluder. Both patients discharged home the next day.1/2
