After heavy 3 -year work on this, I have learnt lessons, gotten to understand the world better, and contributed to multilateralism. One lesson to share is; a stronger resolve to deal with #climatechange is much needed now more than ever. More analysis to come soon..

On a sad note a new accounting practice is introduced. It makes achieving the USD 300 easy by counting finances that already exist or require repackaging. To this end the real value of the goal until 2035 is less than USD 100B and the rest is easy to raise. It is not ambitious.

It has important calls to the broader financial architecture to be non-debt inducing in addressing climate change, shifting risk appetites and enhance provision of finance for climate @KeYouth4sdgs

On the flip side, it carefully maneuvers the current challenges in the financial architecture- with key provisions on the use of non- debt inducing instruments, enhancing access to finance using various measures , addressing high cost of capital, increasing mobilization ratio

Ideally, vulnerable developing countries will too be paying for the Climate problem that they least contributed to and will share the small pie of little resources. Begging another pivotal question, are we now shifting responsibility?

The quantum set - at least USD 300B - shall be everyone's effort including developed countries leading its mobilization yet remaining low and not responding to climate needs of countries.

Critical elements remain concerning: No mobilization goal of 1.3 T as developing countries asked, but a global climate finance flows ( public and private)l by all actors - no differentiation

The New finance goal is now agreed at #COP29! It reflects the contestations in the current world. However, the #ClimateCrisis which vulnerable countries did not cause, is placed on a political weighing beam @ACTAlliance @WeAreVCA
