Looking at GISAID, global surveillance data, Omicron was first detected in a specimen from Italy and was widely circulating prior to South Africa's first report November 23rd. That's why travel bans do not work, never will @LawrenceGostin @MonicaGandhi9 @CarlosdelRio7

IMPACT! When the ambulance team picked up a severely ill #COVID patient, her blood #oxygen level was critically low (below 30%). An OxERA quickly raised her oxygen to 60%-she arrived at the hospital in stabilised condition. Thank you @ all #emergencymedicine teams - you rock!
