When I was pregnant during winter 2020, I’d go in the hospital rooms of my Covid patients and they’d all yell at me to get out and keep myself and my baby safe. Even the patients didn’t want me to make sacrifices medicine required. I think about this a lot.

This has happened many times since the start of the pandemic. I bring it up now because if we could go back 20 years to 9/10/01 and stop it from happening of course we would. Ground the planes... evacuate the buildings. We have that option now, and we're choosing not to.

Why is medical education just a series of honest mistakes that haunt you to your grave ensuring you’ll never do them again 😵‍💫 can’t I learn this stuff without also learning deep existential self loathing

Best part about going to medical school isn’t getting to be a doctor it’s getting to have a whole collection of doctor friends to advise you on your various ailments

Some of my med student friends are being so cavalier about this. One of them is not speaking to me right now over it. It really worries me that we are all going to be doctors soon and many don’t care. How can we expect the public to isolate when we aren’t even willing to?
