Three very common misconceptions in astronomy, addressed in 2 minutes: 1. no gravity in space (there is) 2. black holes suck (they don't) 3. Earth is closer to Sun in summer (it's not) My answer to #1 was too long to fit in this abridged video; let me know if you want more!

Had a lovely picnic dinner with views of the canyon before our evening Astronomy presentation! (Sadly it’s looking too cloudy for the after-talk star gazing though). Had a great day of solar observing and canyon viewing with Dan Fleisch and @JuliaKregenow!

The pub quiz asked which heavenly body orbited the sun at 1au and I said the Moon and they said no the answer is the Earth and I said that is literally the only thing in the universe that is not a heavenly body and they did not give me the point and yes I am still sore about it.
