🔹 Janine Kwapis, Paul Berg Early Career Professor in the Biological Sciences, researches how memories are formed, stored, and updated. 🔹 Timothy Jegla, associate professor of biology, studies the evolution of ion channels and neuronal signaling in early animals.

🔹 Nikki Crowley, Huck Early Career Chair in Neurobiology and Neural Engineering, assistant professor of biology, and director of the Penn State Neuroscience Institute, studies the cellular basis of alcohol addiction.

The brain is the most complex organ in the human body, and the Eberly College of Science has multiple faculty members studying the brain and its many complexities. #PennStateBio.

His leadership helped create the CSL-Behring Fermentation Facility and later the Sartorius Cell Culture Facility, initiatives that leveraged corporate partnerships and philanthropy to enhance Penn State's research and workforce development capabilities.

At the end of the month, James Marden, professor of biology and associate director of operations, will retire from Penn State. Throughout his tenure, Marden played a pivotal role in building infrastructure that has propelled Penn State's research enterprise to new heights.
