In our recent paper, @AnnLangleyHEC, @JuReinecke and I argue that a process-philosophical perspective is best suited for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting the interwoven processes of supply chains and their co-evolving environments.

Processes are fundamental to supply chains and their management. Yet, traditional research approaches to supply chain management (SCM) reflect only a limited understanding of process, offering...

Wonderful welcoming @mggrim today at @Stockholm_Uni for a talk on “Publishing qualitative research”. Some learnings: 🧩 All puzzles are gaps worth filling, but not all gaps are puzzling 🔎 Good qualitative researchers think critically about variation 📑 Reviews are not contracts

My brilliant colleague Nick Butler has just published a book on “The Trouble with #Jokes”. In The Conversation, he explains how #Trump and his followers use offensive humour to make prejudice acceptable. Great read! https://t.co/jaItN2wbw0 via @ConversationUK

Offensive jokes encourage us to laugh at something we are not supposed to laugh at. Something Trump-supporting politicians are using effectively.

Such an important message: If workers are overburdened by their workload, it's not their responsibility to get help, but the employer is responsible for their lowering the workload. It's a systemic and not individual issue that workers are burning out - particularly in academia!
Have you also ever felt really stressed out about your #workload, and your manager sent you a link to a #wellbeing app? New @UniofOxford #research shows it doesn't work. To improve #mentalhealth at #work, we need to change the #workplace, not the worker.

Our in-depth #casestudy has shown that #collaboration that happens "on the edge of failure" is most promising, because only if negotiating parties push each other to cross their "red lines", can the highest rather than the lowest common denominator be reached.

We claim that frames are "elastic" and can be "stretched" across interaction arenas, so frame takers become "frame makers". We also put an emphasis on the #relational dynamics between those who “do” the framing, as frames are grounded in their relationships.

Taking a #processperspective, we find that interactional frames cannot be "transported", as they are bound to the local interaction context in which they emerge. Also, audiences are not simply passive "frame takers", but they need to be actively integrated into framing processes.
