HUGE news! ๐๐พ
In a move towards improved #HealthEquity, OPTN eliminated race from calculations that estimate the function of kidneys from deceased donors. @NationalMOTTEP board member @TPurnell1908 was instrumental in advocating for this policy change.

Transplantation is magical. Can a kidney transplant program set up in Rwanda also be sustainable? Jeffrey Punch, M.D., is on a mission to make it so: https://t.co/MKetib1upJ

Medicine is inseparable from how we live our lives in society at large, and medical schools do not prepare their graduates for the degree of activism needed to try and effect meaningful change. Doctors, by and large (not everyone), are content to be part of the problem.
Whatโs your unpopular medical opinion that would land you in this position? Drop it in this thread

Really important, timely, and powerful work by a dear friend and co-resident @UMichSurgery . This should be required reading in academic surgical spaces as we work to operationalize equitable mentorship.

So excited that ALL SAFE will now be the primary lap training curriculum at PAACS residency programs! Proud to be a part of this work โบ๏ธ๐๐พ @ALLSAFE_Lap @UMichSurgery @3amazinggrace
On March 2-3, ALL-SAFE held two laparoscopic training courses, in collaboration with WACS, led by members of PAACS Leadership, Drs. Grace Kim, Peter Ekeh, and David Jeffcoach. As a result, WACS is adopting ALL-SAFE as the primary laparoscopic training platform.
