Going through all my old note pads. This is from a staff meeting with Coach Lopez in 2012. We met as a staff every day.
I may have wrote down every word he said in every meeting and I’m glad I did. Tons of nuggets.

Was the fitness center “manager”, academic support, field work, recruiting coordinator, hitting coach, teams speed & strength and did lessons. The players made all those jobs worth it

Juco assistant coaches grind it out for very little money. Most do field work, laundry, help players before and after practice, recruit, do administrative duties. A lot have to work AM jobs or do private lessons to survive. THANK THESE COACHES EVERY CHANCE YOU GET.

Use to play 9 innings in 9am game, take tickets in the parking lot of an ASU football game by 12. Had to work for EVERYTHING in JC, including that bag of trail mix everyone shared for lunch in between double headers.
JC ball is one of the greatest things for a young man. I was at a competitive JC and during my first fall we tore out the infield with shovels and takes, everyone sold 150 raffle tickets, $300 worth of apparel, and scrim almost everyday.
