During that time she cross-trained on the bike. Today that all paid off. 2nd at the US 1/2 Champs in 1:10:07. Very proud!

I once asked a former pro cyclist who held world junior records, why he left the sport. He told me he was recruited overseas. The first race was at altitude, he said he needed a month to acclimate. They told him not anymore. He either did EPO or he was off the team. He flew home.
