In a debate on parks and trees, Ealing Lib Dem leader @CllrGaryMalcolm revealed that fraud has occurred relating to tree watering and @CllrAndrewSteed pointed out the importance of parks to health.

Labour councillors have voted against holding the inquiry.

My Lib Dem ward colleague @CHerschLibDem and I proposed a motion calling for an independent inquiry into the Lammas Park SuDS scheme fiasco. A sound idea but implemented shockingly badly with huge parts of the park fenced off for two years.

I asked how much Ealing Borough Community Infrastructure Levy funding will go towards “Your Voice Your Town”. The portfolio holder admitted that amounts will be “modest” for the first three years.

Ealing Lib Dem leader @CllrGaryMalcolm raised an urgent question about how Ealing Labour’s children’s centre cuts fly in the face of government policy. The portfolio holder responded by attacking the Lib Dem group.

I attended Ealing’s overview and scrutiny committee which considered an opposition call-in of the administration’s children’s centre closures moved by @CllrGaryMalcolm. Sadly all Labour members of the committee voted to uphold the decision.
