NEISD is a great district. I was happily preparing to send my child there before we moved to Austin for new jobs. But I’m glad I’m not still there because I’d be having to go to battle with the school board over this one. This is a good and important law.

Can't even begin to describe how much this upsets me. As if there aren't enough perceptions out there already that lawyers are unethical/overpaid. Top thing you learn how to do in law school is how to read and cite cases. Anyone can ask chat GPT to do it. It devalues law licenses

ALL PEOPLE are made in the image of God, including the incarcerated. Our TDCJ public servants deserve better. It’s not unreasonable to ask that the State hold itself to the same standard it holds our counties.
Today I published my last story for The Texas Newsroom @KUTNews. We analyzed years of data from Texas prisons without AC and found — more often than not — temps inside would violate standards for county jails. Jails must keep temps between 65-85°. State prisons don’t. #txlege

This is exactly me, except that 20% is still too high. I went from watching almost every game to watching less than 10% of them. I also watch Luka on the lakers on occasion so maybe more than 1% of other NBA games.
A year ago today, the NBA pretty much died to me. I watch about 20% of the Mavs games this season and 1% of NBA national tv games. I used to be at 80-90% Mavs games and 25% national NBA games. I do like Cooper Flagg a lot. My heart can’t get over what Nico and ownership did.

That churches, while open to the public, are private property is a simple fact. Does acknowledging that make people less likely to go? Knowing that Whataburger is private property doesn’t deter me from going 😁
fyi, the wrong move is to argue the injustice of intruding into a *private* space gathered worship is inherently *public* we should not be surprised there are battles in and over this space

Equally shameful was a well-known national journalist somehow suggesting that First Amendment rights to assembly and speech unabridged by the GOVERNMENT allow for a protest on private property. All while conveniently ignoring freedom of religion for the parishioners/congregants

Just seeing the story of the protest that occurred in a church this morning. The pastor described it as shameful, and he’s not wrong. I don’t care how much you disagree with a church or its pastor you don’t have a right to protest on private property.
