Who'd have thought I'd end up marrying a Central Pennsylvania girl? God has been so good. Coming to @psumeteo for grad school and checking out @CedarHtsChurch my first Sunday in State College were all part of His plan. 10 months has been more than enough time to know she's it!

👋Goodbye humidity, hello campfires 🔥. 📉A cold front will bring a refreshing airmass to the Northeast US tonight as dewpoints fall into the 40s and 50s. Low temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday morning will be in the 50s and afternoons will feature abundant sunshine. ☀️

Abstract Horizontal convective rolls (HCRs) and cellular convection (cells) are frequently observed within the planetary boundary layer. Yet understanding of the evolution, seasonal variation, and...

It’s been a minute since we’ve had textbook clear-air radar signatures. Today is a good throwback to my grad school days at @psumeteo when we investigated (1) horizontal convective rolls using base reflectivity and (2) boundary layer depth using differential reflectivity!
The early online release of my first publication is now available! We show how radar can be used to estimate boundary layer depth. Super thankful for the mentorship of @PSU_RadarMeteo and Dr. Stensrud over the past 2 years. @ametsoc @psumeteo
