New at Noted Hockey: Devon Levi has arrived in Buffalo with the weight of expectations on his shoulders. For him, it's a burden he doesn't even feel.

I asked
#Flyers
Jake Voracek what helped the team turn it around following the 10-game skid:
"We got drunk, that helped. We sat down together, we talked about some stuff we wanted to do better. We had some heart-to-hearts and it worked out so it was good."
It also shouldn’t be up to Matt Dumba, Evander Kane, and Ryan Reaves to shoulder the weight of the discussion on these matters either. That ain’t right.
Sabres should be raising holy hell about this and never shut up about it.
Blame NJ, blame the league, blame everyone who OK’d the weekend series. Complete total failure and now the Sabres have players at risk who otherwise wouldn’t have been.
I’m one of the unfortunate many to say this, but today was my final day with
@TheAthleticBUF
.
I am sad, I am extremely disappointed, but I am not defeated. I am forever thankful to have had the opportunity to write there and tell stories. I love you, Buffalo.
Everything Byron Brown has done since losing the primary are the exact reasons no one should trust or vote for him ever again. Just a loathsome, slimy weasel crybaby.
A bunch of Sabres players and staff went in to catch the end of the football game. Upon the Bills winning, Alex Tuch starts hootin’ and hollerin’
“You don’t play for them!” comes a shout across the room. Hilarious.
Eichel On fans responding to physical play with a smile: “I think with the 5 o’clock St. Paddy’s Day Sunday start it gave the locals enough time to have some drinks and enjoy the parade and head over to the game with a little buzz going to enjoy it.”
Disgusting of Vox Media essentially killing their hockey coverage. A company that barely pays their writers citing costs as a reason to shut sites down is not a company worth patronizing.
Just saw Evan Rodrigues here in the hallway. Literally ran back in to grab something and back out the door to head out. He’s excited. Said he got word around 2:30. Safe to say he seems geeked.
What Bell Media is doing to radio stations across Canada is hideous. The greed of that company and killing jobs while shrouding themselves in helping mental health is abominable.
My thoughts are with friends and colleagues across Canada who have been screwed by these ghouls.
Matt Walsh - not a sports reporter - can piss off with this trash. If this doofus is bothered by women talking sports at him on TV he’s Charmin soft. Grow up, moron.
I’ll say this:
A reckoning has been waiting for hockey and its culture for a very long time.
The courage it takes people to speak up when intimidation leads to silence is immense.
Sports are great and those who poison it with hate should not be protected.
Tonight we celebrated my mother’s life. Seeing people you haven’t seen in decades under these circumstances is a very surreal experience. We told stories, we laughed, we cried. All because my mom was able to bring everyone together. It’s a tremendous gift to have. I’ll miss her.
Asked Linus Ullmark about what it was like playing against a bunch of the Leafs Swedish players after playing with all the Sabres Swedes: “Our Swedes are better.”
No Mogilny again, huh?
I guess a brilliant career in which you risk your life to defect from the Soviet Union to play in the NHL just doesn’t count for much.
I believe Alexander Mogilny belongs in the Hockey Hall of Fame but I’m some bozo with an opinion.
Turns out Pat LaFontaine, Martin Brodeur, Pavel Bure, Darcy Tucker, and Gary Roberts agree with me which is nice.
Royal blue was the only thing to do. It’s the best look. Hockey should have more lighter shades of color.
*whispers loud enough to be heard on the street* Home teams should also go back to wearing white jerseys
So a lot of you don’t want Miller’s number retired because the Sabres already have “too many” retired.
And that’s Miller’s fault? I’d argue that Miller already ate enough crap from past Sabres mistakes to prevent a justified honor but hey.
Kyle Okposo was pretty clear how he felt: "Anytime that you put on an NHL sweater, put on a Sabres sweater, you better play with some pride otherwise you shouldn’t fucking be here. I don’t believe that, that we’ve lost that, and if guys have, then they shouldn’t be here."
Jeff Skinner says he was invited to Worlds but wants to talk with his family and agent before deciding.
He also said Between 2 Stalls might be a one year phenomenon - but also said Don Granato would be fun to have on “I don’t know if that would go so well.” Big smile.
A source tells The Athletic that Sabres forward Evan Rodrigues, who will he scratched tonight, does not see a future with the organization. Story is forthcoming.
Michael Peca introduced as part of the group of 90s alums comes out in his black and red jersey but pulls it off to reveal a Tre White Bills No. 27 -- he didn't *need* to make everyone cheer for him more
Let's get this conversation going (and end it):
You go back to Levi tomorrow. No travel, they won't skate in the morning, let him sleep in until it's time to go to the arena.
Amount of time I devote to Girgensons haters: 0
He has a role, he’s very good at it. Being mad because he’s the last one left from an era you want to forget is a you problem.
Every Sabres defenseman having a goal now at this point of the season serves as a reminder that at this point last season NO defensemen had a goal yet.
What I’ve gathered from Don Granato’s words the past view days is Ralph Krueger did a lot of damage to their best players. I know that seems like a Captain Obvious statement, but jeez.
After five incredible seasons, today was my final day as Buffalo correspondent for .
I am forever thankful and grateful to the staff, editors, and colleagues I've made there over the years for helping me grow as a writer and a reporter.
Sabres should be raising holy hell about this and never shut up about it.

Never mind Jack saying plenty before this past season he loved Buffalo and wanted to bring them back to prominence.
Things change. I bet you if Allen’s first six seasons went the same as Jack’s he’d be out of here ASAP too.
Josh Allen can’t see himself playing anywhere besides Buffalo.
Jack Eichel openly admits he wants to play in Boston.
Really interesting how vastly different things have gone for the two star players in the different sports.
Pretty embarrassing stuff from IIHF canceling the women’s tournament two years in a row but making sure the mens tournament goes off. Pathetic stuff from a weak and meek organization
