Here we write about a new collection of articles on the politics of physical activity. "Can physical activity be governed? How is it governed? Whose interests are used to inspire (or compel) physical activity?".

When should a child begin collision/contact sports?. The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia recommends that low or no contact versions of sports are played by those under the age of 14. This particularly applies to school sports.

“[Ice] Hockey has this reputation for being incredibly rough but we don’t start contact until the age of 15” . Quotes like this show that rugby's policies for preventing brain injuries to children could be always be adapted. And yet . (1/2) .

#physicalactivity I am surprised and disappointed to see this latest number. I applaud the academics and advocates to make positive change. It is a deeply entrenched situation. Time to think about radical changes such as 4 day week, universal basic income, and free PA facilities.

90 seconds isn’t anywhere near enough time to explain the nuances of the men’s sport vs women’s sport “atmosphere” debate but I had a crack anyway and got to twirl my cool @Matildasactive scarf around in the process, check it out.
