Here’s the original article by my team highlighted by NYT. Obesity is a family disease and if one is affected, all are affected. Similarly, if there’s a lesson for one of us, there’s a lesson for all of us. Treating one patient may start a ripple that will flow through a.

Thanks Ted. Here’s the original article by my team highlighted by NYT showing the halo effect of bariatric surgery. Obesity is a family disease and if one is affected, all are affected. Similarly, if there’s a lesson for one of us, there’s a lesson for all of us. Treating one.

It's becoming apparent that #GLP1s are having a ā€œcontagion effectā€ in some families. But this effect is a good one with healthier lives for other family members. HT: @jackiesnow @ObesityAction .

Absolutely/ the stunning impact of weight loss surgery upon idiopathic intracranial hypertension includes reversal of lost visual fields!additionally vp shunts can’t flow uphill with increased intra-abdominal pressure so if you have obesity and ICH weight loss can help.

Real-world GLP-1 outcomes are often 25–50% worse than what we observe in clinical trials. - - -.Yet that doesn’t stop some clinics from advertising trial data as if it reflects their own results. If you don’t collect outcomes, you shouldn’t get to claim them. Period. Stop the

I’m honored to be quoted in this article about the surprising effects of rapid weight loss from GLP medications like Ozempic. Changes can appear as ā€œOzempic face,ā€ ā€œOzempic butt,ā€ ā€œOzempic feet,ā€ ā€œOzempic hands,ā€ and even ā€œOzempic fingersā€ due to fat loss outpacing skin’s ability

Naw- everyone has a plan until you hit- it’s not only incisions, it’s decisions- so many surgeries involve contingencies never seen or anticipated-the human condition is infinite in its majesty and variation- no algorithm can surpass great surgical intuition & dexterity.

Robots will surpass good human surgeons within a few years and the best human surgeons within ~5 years. @Neuralink had to use a robot for the brain-computer electrode insertion, as it was impossible for a human to achieve the required speed and precision.

To be clear, if we understand obesity through the lens of a lipostat, this outcome is predictable. Since semaglutide was stopped, the new energy homeostasis depends entirely on the surgical contribution alone. If surgery + med was used in combination, then the weights would be.
