.@CodeClubCanada is running online sessions in place of in-person meetups! Projects are designed for kids aged 8-12 (no coding experience needed!). We’ll be covering different coding projects each week so kids will have lots to keep themselves busy. Join: https://t.co/8lKv4IRMDe

I had the opportunity host a meetup for @NLESDCA teachers on the theme of coding and music. We used @microbit_edu, @Ableton, and @scratch to compose and perform with contemporary electronic music aesthetics. Thanks to @MrGoldsworthy12 and @mmelee5 for the support. @KidsCoding

A 7th grade student took inspiration from band class and used their music for Semptemer, by Earth Wind & Fire, during a micro:bit workshop @stpaulsjh. The accurate rhythms required a bit of math. I love when students draw form multiple subjects to create their projects @NLESDCA

This wonderful classroom at @VElementary incorporates music into all of their activities. They use songs to learn French and today we made connections between music code. Remixing education in the @NLESDCA. @KidsCoding @microbit_edu

A new @codeclubcanada participant followed a tutorial and made a great pong game. The other kids were thrilled to play it. A lot of parents comment that they like adding social elements to coding. These kids have developed some great friendships at @NLGEOCENTRE @KidsCoding

3 @KidsCoding micro:bit workshops at @paradiseelem today. The 6th graders were super engaged and the teachers were thrilled with all curriculum connections. It's always inspiring to hear how the teachers of the @NLESDCA plan to use these tools in their classrooms.

Random musical instruments can inspire design for @scratch projects! I brought a Ukelele and one @codeclubcanada member made a project that features a concert. Another group member offered to record the music for it. With no direction they were able to run this recording session!

Extremely creative students at @Amalgamated_NL in Bay Roberts, NL. This participant designed a fireworks display on their Mibro:bit. @KidsCoding would love to visit your school with one of our Micro:bit workshops!

Composing more music for our @scratch projects at the @NLGEOCENTRE. This @codeclubcanada participant is discovering a low pass filter in @Ableton Live. The sound he is playing is actually a sample of another participant's voice w/ arpeggiator, delay and chorus added. @KidsCoding.

I used @Sonic_Pi to create my own backing track. I programmed the first 4 measures of "Autumn Leaves" in order to practice improvising over the chord changes. I remixed the walking bass line from a transcription of the great jazz bassist, Ron Carter. @KidsCoding #musicandcode
