Climate action doesn't always look like protesting (though respect to those who do). Sometimes it's choosing how you travel, what you buy, where your money goes, who you vote for, what conversations you have. Lots of small actions by lots of people can lead to big change.

Hotter summers. Higher bills. Worse storms. Failed crops. Rising costs. Displaced communities. Children with asthma. Unaffordable insurance. This is climate change. Now is the time to act.

Can COP30 truly deliver for people and planet? We asked those closest to the work – @charmianlove from Natura &Co and Larissa Pinto Moraes from @ENGAJAMUNDO on what needs to shift in Belém:

As COP30 begins, remember that climate action is an opportunity. For green jobs, cleaner air, healthier communities, innovation, justice, and a future worth living in. We know what needs to be done. Now we need the courage to do it.

The world’s biggest climate summit is happening in the Amazon rainforest. At #COP30 in Brazil, leaders say it’s time for a “post-negotiation era” of less talk, more doing. If that’s true, this could be the moment we finally turn promises into action.

We can end AIDs if we choose to. In just days, world leaders will decide their Global Fund pledge that could help millions more people live healthy, hopeful lives. Now’s the moment to choose hope and fund it. #BeHope #EndAIDS #GlobalFund

Honestly some days the Global Goals feel overwhelming. zero hunger? gender equality? climate action? But then we remember, they're global for a reason. None of us have to do it alone and somehow that makes it feel possible again.

And btw hope doesn't mean toxic positivity. You can be frustrated AND hopeful. You can see how far we have to go AND celebrate how far we've come. The Global Goals give us permission to hold both truths at once.

We measure economic success by GDP but not by whether people can afford housing, healthcare, or food. Maybe we should measure success by whether the economy actually works for people.

things that should be basic in every job: safe working environment ✓ fair pay you can live on ✓ reasonable hours ✓ sick leave ✓ respect ✓ job security ✓ the fact we're still fighting for these in many places is wild

Someone works two jobs and still can't afford rent. Another has a degree but is stuck in unpaid internships. Someone else works in conditions that shouldn't exist in 2025. Goal 8 exists because these stories are way too common and none of them should be normal.

What does "decent work" even mean? It means fair pay, safe conditions, respect, security, and the ability to actually live on what you earn. Goal 8 says this shouldn't be a privilege, it should be standard.

Renewable energy is often cheaper, more reliable, and creates more jobs than fossil fuels. The only reason we're not moving faster is because old systems are hard to change. But change is coming anyway:

Want to support goal 7? Switch to a renewable energy provider if you can, advocate for clean energy policies, support community energy projects, reduce your energy consumption, share info about renewables. Every action moves us closer to affordable, clean energy for all.
