I was looking over some numbers, and the @Pitt_FB team lost 17 scholarship players from its 2025 roster to the transfer portal this offseason. Of all 68 Power Four teams, only 15 had fewer departures than the Panthers.

Not enough people remember Big East Football. This would be a fairly normal schedule for Pitt 15 years ago.
Pitt football playing on a Thursday and two Fridays is one of the wildest college football schedules in Pittsburgh we’ve ever seen. Should be entertaining and for sure interesting.

After playing all regular season games on a Saturday in 2025, Pitt has three weeknight games for 2026: a Thursday home game against Syracuse, a Friday home game against Florida State and a road game at Virginia Tech on a Friday.

I thought about this, but that weekend in 2025 was the first weekend of WPIAL championship games, which were held on Saturday. So this date might actually be better because it won't conflict with HS football.
