So, I think both things are true. 1. Getting to Charlotte is still on the table. 2. There was an opportunity today to be better than "contending for the ACC title." And that opportunity was blown spectacularly.

In five games against Notre Dame under Pat Narduzzi, Pitt has scored 5 offensive touchdowns. 3 of those happened in the 2015 game. The Panthers have scored 2 offensive touchdowns in the last 15+ quarters against Notre Dame.

Rasheem Biles picks off CJ Carr and runs 10 yards to the end zone for Pitt's first touchdown of the game. Somehow, though, Notre Dame intercepts the two-point conversion attempt and goes all the way the other way. So the score is now Notre Dame 30, Pitt 9.

Pitt almost had its first touchdown of the game, but replay indicated that Raphael Williams was down short of the goal. Notre Dame gets the ball back inside its own 1.

The crowd at Acrisure Stadium is showing the effects of being down 25. I fear that this upcoming Pitt drive could determine whether many of them stay much longer.
