The pro-Israel lobby in Canada wants to “couple ongoing litigation with an extensive outreach campaign to police and prosecutors across the country to persuade law enforcement to investigate Palestine solidarity as if it were hate speech.”.

Our goals are always the same: to uplift pro-Palestinian voices and movements. To encourage and highlight Jewish support for Palestinian freedom, safety and liberation. And to gather Jewish voices to speak against the violence of Zionism. No amount of lawfare will stop this.

Also in 2023, The Lawfare Project filed a class-action lawsuit against UBC that alleged, in part, that “anti-Israel propaganda” resulted in Jewish students feeling targeted by their peers.

On its website, Lawfare claims that McMaster students were exposed to “antisemitic rhetoric” at rallies and conflates the student union’s endorsement and support of BDS with discrimination and harassment.

Recently, the Lawfare Project launched in Canada. Aside from putting on the Nova Exhibition, here are some other things they have done:. In 2023, The Lawfare Project and Canadian lawyers sued McMaster University.

The term lawfare is defined as the weaponization of the legal system to achieve political goals. Ironically, The Lawfare Project claims one of its roles is to combat lawfare.

The Lawfare Project, which touts itself as the legal arm of the Jewish community, started out as an American org that files lawsuits against people and institutions who it believes are treating Jewish people unfairly. .

Neither group is a for-profit entity, nor do we have reason to believe this exhibit or fundraiser violated any rules regarding their nonprofit or charitable status. The notice issued to us is not the first of its kind for this organization.

To be clear: The Lawfare Project is an American non-profit organization. The Lawfare Project Canada is a charity that put on the Nova Exhibition, and raised money to do so–over $230,000–through its Canada Helps page. Every donation got a tax rebate, paid for by Canadian taxpayers

The Lawfare Project is claiming that this misled people into thinking that they are violating their nonprofit status by mounting the Nova Exhibition or pocketing profits.

Tsabar also stated that the exhibition was a tool to bring profits into an organization called The Lawfare Project, which mounted it.
