May your kids clean up beautifully after making a ginormous mess on Shabbat, and leave the floor with just one solitary Lego piece on the floor. And may you step on it. @JewishCurses (true story)

This is an incredibly well written article that everyone who has been involved in the menorah conversations from one side or the other should read
I so enjoyed our discussion of the straight menorah that I had to write a full essay. https://t.co/iwnw6OdKAc

Gil, you are certainly aware that the Rambam, a Rishoin, holds more authority than the Temple Institute, who are contemporary Acharonim. You would need a Rishoin to dispute a Rishoin.
@Mottel The Temple Institute in Jerusalem begs to differ

This has nothing to do with my usual content. Baruch Dayan Haemes. Daniel Naroditzky, a Jewish chess grandmaster, died suddenly today.

I wrote this last year, expressing that I felt like Simchas Torah would never quite feel the same. While nothing will erase the pain completely, this year will definitely have an extra simchas, knowing that there are no more hostages. They are home. May G-d bring us all home.
My thoughts on this Simchas Torah, a 🧵: Simchas Torah was always the happiest Yom Tov. Singing and dancing with the Torah, unbridled joy to be the people chosen to keep it. Until last year. As we walked into shul, a community member said 4 words: "Israel is at war". 1/x

@JewishCurses may you wake up in the middle of the night with a booming headache. Running to grab Tylenol, you should step on a mini lego, fall into the negel water, and hit the tip of your big toe on the metal edge of the bedframe, while your phone falls into the spilled water

Literally the President of the US: "on the Rebbes yahrtzeit, we should remember to focus on education, criminal justice reform, and world peace" Other people: "aha so he's dead"

What an incredible way to take a day that should be used to inspire people to do better, and focus on being Moshiach, and reduce it to "he's dead", while simultaneously stirring division under the guise of "at least we agree. Truly Gil, do better.
I am moved by all the postings about the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s yahrtzeit because it means we all agree on at least one thing, he is no longer alive. (Of course we agree on much more) This was not a given 25 years ago.

I don't want to silence you. I do want a piano to fall on your head.
Actually, I am perfectly entitled to express my own opinions, on my own YouTube channel, and despite all the abuse and threats I’ve had this week for criticising Israel’s govt, in a concerted effort to silence me, I will continue to do so. If you don’t like it, don’t watch.

@jpodhoretz it sounds like an old Jewish curse, "May you walk through a heavy rain storm, but instead of raindrops may it be pianos falling on your head".
