Is this @JennaPrice’s best column? It’s certainly up there. It’s got all the facts (with a dash of fury and funny for good measure) on the new GG’s salary.

What the government did was not fair. Bring on the republic. I’d be happy with Mostyn as the first president.

Awed today (most days, really) by the peerless @suigenerisjen for her indefatigable, articulate advocacy. Her perseverative focus for her client’s rights is a credit to the profession. What a brain, what a work ethic. Onya, Jen.

“Some people are making an extraordinary amount of money out of early learning and it is not educators and it is not parents of young children.” Nailed it @georgiedent !

With Labor’s more generous subsidies largely eroded by rising fees, many are now pushing for major reform

"It could be read as hanging her out to dry". ABC news management lost in a withering wilderness? Courage & moral conviction is desperately needed in Australian journalism. Who indeed needs counselling right now? Not her @latingle @abcnews @politicsabc

No matter what the national broadcaster does, News Corp and the Australian will keep gnawing at it

For mine? Awesome that a chunk of cash was put aside for paying early educators properly. No change to the activity test, which many reviews called a policy lemon. Looking forward to universal, affordable, quality early education as promised last election—and the way there.

"The girls were ranked from top to bottom as “wifeys”, “cuties”, “mid”, “object”, “get out” and then finally “unrapable”. " This is sickening. And it isn't about one group of students at one school. This is our culture. https://t.co/IW4dQ4oADM

Please excuse the f-💣, but I'm livid. Announcements from National Cabinet Meeting are off the mark, they are simply not enough. #enoughisenough For more detail, read my full statement: https://t.co/tEGJWdLr4H

Men’s violence against women is man-made, so it requires a man-made solution. Please fix it.

Women in Australia deserve better, governments have to do better and as a society we have to do better. That's why we'll be convening the National Cabinet with one issue on the agenda: immediate, meaningful and practical action to address family violence.

25 women killed by men before 24/4 this year in a population of 26 million. We are not safe. 👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤👤

Women are not safe in Australia. Not in our homes, or while out for a run or picking up groceries. And not after taking out an ADVO on an alleged offender.

Brittany Higgins has shown grace, humility, courage and leadership today. She has offered peace and requested space to heal after five battle-weary years. The wisest among us will honour that.
