I miss Western Australia so much right now. It was only my home for a few years but it has stayed with me, + every British winter I doubt my life choices + ache to return, especially to the sea.
Can I get a vibe check? . Went for a swim at Siesta Park today, thought I'd do some experimenting with one of my cameras. Siesta Park, Western Australia. #WesternAustralia #Beach

As a small island nation (incl. lots of even smaller islands) already prone to flooding, heat waves, coastal erosion + sea level rise I cannot comprehend the stupidity of this government. Even a self-preservationist approach suggests this move is counter to our continued survival

Listened to a reviewer’s feedback that I missed an important body of work. Felt stupid at first, then annoyed, now amassed a new reading list + diving in - accepting that deep careful academic reading is also a gift to myself, to take time to dwell with others’ ideas + think anew.

Are self-sufficient rural communities an idea whose time has come? A few years ago, councils and neighbours tended to write them off as hippies. Now attitudes are changing
