Standing with you, @DrProudman. Those perpetrating this abuse need to have a long hard look in the mirror and really think about why this advocacy affects them so deeply.
As a female barrister advocating on behalf of victims of male violence, I've faced misogyny & threats from barristers. From being called a c*** to attempts to disbar me, they've thrown dozens of complaints my way. I won't be silenced. I am speaking up to advocate for change šŖ”

The most heartbreaking account from a mother whose daughter took her own life during lockdown - and she was unable to get to her because of travel restrictions. Brings to life just how despicable Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and others behaviour truly was during Covid.
Absolutely heart-rending account by Philippa Bateman from Worcestershire. š. This needs to be heard by every Boris Johnson sycophant / enabler who trivialises his lockdown breaches, defends his blatant lies, or ridicules the Privileges Committee as a Kangaroo Court!

Something I wrote last year, when Roe Vs Wade was overturned in the US, about our complacency in the UK to creeping anti-abortion rhetoric in our media and our parliament:

We tried to warn you - never think it can't happen here in Britain. This was the UK's alarming response to the overturning of Roe V Wade in the US last year - and a sign of things to come. Now, a woman is in jail for abortion.

This is a dark day. A mother of three, life ruined, sentenced to jail for taking abortion pills. In the UK. The 'tragedy', the judge said, was that she didn't plead guilty sooner. Not the fact we've jailed a non-violent woman for seeking healthcare.

Mitigation plea signed by medical groups was sent to judge, while BPAS chief executive said sentence was āshocking and appallingā
