30+ years ago we spent many holidays camping in a sheep field in Rhandirmwyn.
We used to take a little cast iron BBQ with us for cooking on and it was often still warm when we went to bed and in the morning there'd be one or two sheep lying next to the BBQ.

Yes it is.
A lot of damage was done when previous programs told everyone their garden was an "outside room".
It made people think it had to be "tidy" all the time or what would the neighbours think.

This is Purple Toadflax with its tall spikes of purple flowers that go on flowering into late summer.
The Bumblebees love it and we just leave it to self-seed all over the place ๐๐

This plant is Fox & Cubs.
Presumably so called because the buds, (cubs), cluster around the main flower.
It has other names: Flora's Paintbrush, Orange-flowered Hawkweed and Missionary Weed.
But why is it also called Grim-the-collier?

You don't need to spend money on all those sprays from the garden centre.
As well as killing aphids, they also kill the predators that eat the aphids.
This means you have to keep spraying and keep buying more poisons, (poisons that also kill Bees).

Yes, I love them.
We don't seem to have Carrion Crows but we do have Jackdaws who nested in our Yew tree this year, (you wouldn't believe the noise, the neighbours weren't at all impressed ๐), and very clever Rooks that raid the seed feeders.

If you're only going to have one herb in your garden, make it Pot Marjoram ๐
Also known as wild marjoram, it has clusters of small pink flowers in summer and the aromatic leaves have a good flavour and can be added to Mediterranean dishes.
But, more importantly, it feeds....

Little tiny hedgehog limped by our window this afternoon. Scooped up, boxed up and delivered to hedgehog carer. Poor little mite only weighed 270 grams. Hopefully he'll be back in the spring. Big thanks to our neighbour for the jump start. ๐๐๐ฆ
