I understand the concept behind “strokes gained”, but the statistical model is based on using the incorrect data type. Lol

The main problem with most golf analytics is just simply the fact that people don’t understand very simple statistics. Strokes on a hole (or for a round) is ordinal data, not nominal and it’s not appropriate to report to report an average as a measure of central tendency.
