A little bit of personal news. 15 years year later, it's the end of an era! My last day is today. @CarverCorner @fcsministries will forever live on in my heart for a long time. What a wonderful ride it's been! . For those that followed along and supported me/us, thank you!

If we build an Armour Yards infill MARTA station, we should move the Amtrak station there until a downtown one can be built. Having Amtrak and Marta rail not connected is foolishness.

Last one. Teenagers want their freedom almost more than anything else. We have a captive audience in 13-17 year olds without a license. Our service and our system should be good enough to entice our young people to use it to get around.

This weekend - I had family members pass on MARTA 3 times - Airport run, Inman Park Fest, and Streets Alive, due to the 20 minute headways . If we want to attract new riders -especially riders sympathetic to MARTA - we have to offer better service frequencies.

I would argue #1 is most important. Resetting Mission Control. I was in DC a few weeks ago and it was palpable the difference in service standards between WMATA and Marta. Trains every 5 minutes - even at 8am Sunday morning to station attendants at every stop. It showed.

I think what drives me nuts about this post is that it’s clear the cost of „free parking“ is baked into a restaurants prices. People driving don’t want to pay for parking. But yet, those that don’t drive are forced to pay more for a meal to cover „free parking“.
Atlanta’s parking fees are too damn high. Is that why great local restaurants are shutting down and many are moving to the ’burbs?

And there it is. We all knew that this was coming…. I hate it - because I want to see transit expanded. But it drives me nuts that we’re over-promised and underdelivered virtually every time.

Full disclosure. I lived and still operate a business next to the Hank Aaron/Carver Stop. please keep replies kind :) . Why would somone at Jackson/Glenwood, Boulevard, or Hill St ride the system west? . I would love to hear some thoughts.
