30 years today since my dad Victor David Bonnington raised his arms one final time before saying goodbye. I was 11 then. I'm 41 now. Nothing's changed; he's still my idol and always will be.

I'll never forget the night Gav won the Sunshine Sprint with Hectorjayjay. Not due to the win but because Gav invited me to drink & chat with he & Meagan after. I've never felt in such unmitigated awe. It was my greatest night in the game. And he was the greatest of all time

Yesterday I notched up 10 years working with HRV. With most things in life I can't stay motivated or interested for very long at all. Nothing could be less true when it comes to studying form & promoting/broadcasting this sport. I could do it for 50 years. And love every minute.

When my beloved brother was dying back in 2014 I took a brief break from the hospital to go and punt one horse at the Heidelberg TAB. That horse was Classy Western. He won and gave me the briefest but most beautiful respite imaginable. So sad to hear his fate today

Finally home after another superb Redwood Day. So rapt to see a big, passionate crowd for Les Chapman's final carnival in charge. Few have contributed more to trotting and Harness Racing in general. And Majestuoso - wow!
