Excellent news that this budget will remove the 2 child benefit cap, set to take an estimated 600,000 children nationally out of poverty and to benefit nearly 14,000 kids in Brent. No child should have to go hungry because of how many siblings they have.

Delighted the Chancellor has announced to scrap the cruel two child benefit cap. Across #Brent, up to 14,300 children could immediately be lifted out of poverty and prevent many more from falling into poverty This is the right thing to do! #EndChildPoverty #Budget2025

Your Brent Labour councillors have raised over 24,000 pieces of casework since we were elected in May 2022, with thousands more reports on FixMyStreet to keep Brent's streets clean. ๐งน ๐น Here's just some of what we've sorted over November: #OnYourSide

No child in Brent should go hungry because of the cost-of-living crisis. That's why your Brent Labour council has extended our food voucher scheme, meaning low-income families receive the support they need. Labour will always work hard to tackle poverty in Brent. ๐น

Pleasure to join St Robert Southwell students in Kingsbury today They showed me their eco-refill shop, which encourages students and parents to re-fill household items, cutting out single-use plastics and saving money in the process

๐๏ธ NCIL funding is money the Council receives from developers building in Brent, being invested directly back into community projects to make the changes you can see. Here's a flavour of what's to come in Brent with the huge new ยฃ8m funding ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น

๐จ Another gambling licence granted in my constituency. I objected. The Council objected. Local people objected. But the 'Aim to Permit' policy means we canโt stop it. I'm campaigning to give residents the power to say NO. Help me make a difference. https://t.co/UozeDEmu3k

Plans to convert a former Brent bank into an adult gaming centre have been given the green light - despite fears the proliferation of gambling sitesโฆ

The tracks are laid, the commuters are ready - all we need now is the green light. ๐ฆ๐ Here's why we're asking for a new Overground line for West London, from Hendon to Harlesden to Hounslow. ๐๐ฐ #WestLondonOrbital

A push is on to extend the Overground to Brent Cross and West Hampstead using an old freight railway line running through Gladstone Park and Neasden.

Today at #PMQs I welcomed the Govtโs plans to give councils stronger powers over gambling outlets but we must go further. The outdated 'aim to permit' rules must end. Gambling Tax must go up. Give communities & high streets an opportunity to thrive.
