I made a super simple spinner that randomises the order of items - perfect for teachers to eg randomise the order of students presenting to the class:

Pathfinding algorithms (Dijkstra and A*) visualised on real maps of Cambridge. Useful for A-level computer science teachers/students: I had lots of fun finding out how to use OpenStreeMap (OSM) data and the OverPass API with this one.

Day 8 of #AdventOfCode using JavaScript via @bunjavascript . A pretty good solve, but 5mins wasted misunderstanding an example at the end. Video at #AdventOfCode2024.

Computer science teachers: I've made some videos showing how to use my free Little Man Computer simulator, which uses binary and is pretty slick:

I've made some changes to which should make it more robust to connection issues, and so teachers see student answers even quicker. I continue to use this invaluable AfL tool almost every lesson. Try it out if you haven't already. It's free.

🚀Launching - a little man computing (LMC) simulator that uses binary instead of denary. A great resource for teachers and students of computer science to learn assembly, the FDE cycle and 2's complement.

Do let me know how you've got on with this if you've had a chance to try it in your lessons. Suggestions/feedback very much welcome.

I create the form then sit at my desk watching their answers roll in. I quickly spot misconceptions and intervene with individual students. Those like @adamboxer1 and @mrbartonmaths will surely love the high participation ratio this enables. All students are answering.

I've now used this in all of my computer science lessons this week with wonderous results. I can make a new form in 5-10 seconds and have have students joining it and seeing their answers 20 seconds later.

I created this out of frustration with Microsoft Forms. I wanted to make forms really quickly from questions I'd pre-prepared or made up on the spot. Importantly, I didn't want students to have to hit 'Submit' before I could see their answers. This is so much better for lessons.
