Nothing wrong with re-examining options. But I re-state strongly my preference for all this to and fro to have been done in private and not over such an extended period. This noise has created unnecessary volatility in markets and huge political and economic uncertainty.
Treasury put out this statement… And I think at that time gilt markets calmed a bit - 5 or 6 bps up, below 4.5% on the yen year, rather than 11-12 bps but earlier in the week it was briefly below 4.4%… after expectations of lower rates on the back of soft economic data. As I
