Just incredibly honored to report from London that @hoffman_bruce and I were awarded the 2024 Neave Book Prize by @TrustAirey and @PoolReinsurance. Our book was dedicated to all those who suffer from hate and extremism. Needless to say, this award is for them too.
1) Both @Jacob_A_Ware & I are humbled to have been awarded The Neave Book Prize in London today. According to the website, "The award is to honour the work of non-fiction which the judging panel considers to have made the most significant, original,

"It's a killing field.". "Our form of communication is gunfire.". "The loss of human life means nothing.". A brave and utterly damning report on killings at food distribution sites in #Gaza, from @nirhasson, @yanivkub, and @bar_peleg in @haaretzcom.

ICYMI, I recently reviewed Prophet Song and its American cousin It Can’t Happen Here for @ILLSP_GWU. Unfortunately, "those who would pick up either of these books in search of hope and optimism at a troubling moment will be dismayed."

I also recommended @paullynchwriter's magisterial Prophet Song, a haunting story about the entrenchment of far-right totalitarian government in Ireland, and one family’s refusal and then desperation to flee. Winner of the 2023 Booker Prize.

I’m so deeply honored to contribute to the @WarOnTheRocks 2025 Summer Fiction Reading List… and of course, I recommend @peterwsinger and @august_cole's stellar Ghost Fleet, easily the best book I have read in the IR field. Truly a must read.

I'm thinking tonight of the survivors of the October 2018 Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history. Their bravery built @EradicateHate_. For their sacrifice to be dismissed as a "grift" is shameful.
