If you’re not sensitive to getting your hands dirty and toxic chemicals it’s totally worth it. Otherwise yeah an EV may be right for you.
EV Haters: I caN Pump GAs in 5 MINuTeS!. You also have increased maintenance, exhaust sound/smells, engine heat, vibrations, drivetrain lag, a higher center of gravity increasing rollover risk, and poor acceleration relative to cost. But yes you can pump gas fast in the heat.
