Nice to see more indirect research on #cerebral #autoregulation confirming our experimental findings that autoregulation is preserved in many circumstances.
Diffusion-weighted imaging lesion frequency and volume were unaffected by intensive antihypertensive therapy in patients with sub-acute intracerebral hemorrhage.

This research challenges several widespread assumptions about treating #hypertension in #frail older people… I am now convinced we have under treated rather than over treated older people. Time for a paradigm shift! #geriatrics.

It took the dementia field a while but they are finally accepting the vascular hypothesis of dementia, including #Alzheimer. I still remember the ‘no you stupid, Alzheimer’s is amyloid, or has nothing to do with vascular disease ’ responses to my papers 15 years ago 😀.
Most viewed this week from @JAMANeuro: . Between 22% and 44% of dementia cases by age 80 are attributed to midlife and late-life vascular risk factors, according to this cohort study.
