Super interesting! "Decoupling Dollar and Treasury Privilege" by Wenxin Du, Ritt Keerati, and Jesse Schreger. "We document a strong decoupling between the convenience yield on the US Dollar and US Treasuries. We measure the convenience of the U.S. dollar using covered interest

GCAP co-directors @JSchreger and @m_maggiori joined other experts and policy leaders for a discussion on the future of the economic and security commons. A great convening organized by @HooverInst.
What will the new rules of the global economy be? It’s one of the defining questions of the next decade. Recently, I joined economists and policymakers at @HooverInst to explore how we build a more secure and resilient global system.

Very happy to see my paper now out at the JIE! I'm very thankful for the constructive feedback from the editor and referees, and for the invaluable support from @MSchularick and @farzado throughout the process.
@TimothyAMeyer This paper introduces a new dataset tracking valuation gains on the U.S. foreign asset position across countries and derives a sufficient statistic that translates those gains into welfare effects.
