Excited to share that our prospective multicenter study on displaced proximal humerus fractures in adolescents won the Best Eposter award @POSNA_org meeting. Thanks to the great collaborators @JRDenning @southNJscoli and others @WUSTLortho.

One of the highlights of my professional life. getting to work with @mkotagal and a diverse team to help fix Gladys gorilla's broken arm! 🩷🦍.
Gladys, a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo, is recovering after being injured during a scuffle with members of her troop. Her injury was uncommon, so the zoo brought in surgeons from Cincinnati Children’s and anesthesiologists from UC College of Medicine.

Rounded out our time in Portugal yesterday with library/museum tours in Coimbra & a tuk tuk ride thru Porto with Dr. Cristina Alves. Traveled to Aarhus, Denmark where we’ve been welcomed by Dr. Martin Gottliebsen. Back in the hospital setting tomorrow! @POSNA_org

Friday in Portugal: after hip/foot clinic, our Coimbra hosts treated us to a walking tour of the University, rooftop drinks, and traditional Portuguese delicacies for lunch AND dinner along with front row seats to live guitar/Fado music! @POSNA_org

Got to spend an educational day in the OR with Cristina Alves and her amazing team in Coimbra, gave a few lectures and the residents took us out for a delicious dinner including some local dishes (codfish) and wine! @POSNA_org

We arrived in Coimbra, Portugal today (my birthday!) and my co-fellows brought me bubbly from Croatia and our hosts Cristina Alves, Oliana Tarquini, and Tah Pu Ling surprised me with fireworks on our dessert! We also talked about Orthopaedics…@POSNA_org

Started our final day in Basel w/personal training session beside the Rhine River, spent the day in operating rooms, a private showing of Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit, rooftop aperitifs, and a final “family dinner” with friends (many of whom we’ll see at EPOS!) @POSNA_org
