Joseph Hall was the inventor of the system of 'wet puddling' (Pig-iron boiling) which produces wrought iron. Hall's invention led to the construction of the Eiffel Tower & the original framework of the Statue of Liberty. He is buried in Key Hill Cemetery in JQ #InventorsMonth

Today the scenic Hatton Locks are on a stretch of waterway named the Grand Union Canal, but when opened in 1799 this was the Warwick & Birmingham Canal! ⛓ Built to carry coal for the industry in the Black Country, and as a vital trade link connecting London and Midlands. 🧵

āœļø We do love a set of architectural drawings! 🪟 There’s so much going on behind the scenes this year and the addition of our secondary glazing is what we’re most excited about! āš”ļøThe improvements it’ll make to our energy efficiency will be clear to see! More updates coming.

We had a great day at The JQ Festival! Thanks to everyone who stopped by in the School of Jewellery. A lot of you were interested in our books & the plan of Warstone Lane catacombs; as it explained the layout. Hope everyone enjoyed the festival! (books are heavy, who knew!)
