A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect this afternoon through Wednesday evening across northern Worcester County. Light snow is on the way tonight, but there will also be some light freezing rain to deal with at times through Wednesday. Watch out for slippery travel.

With move-in day right around the corner, overpasses all over the Boston area need your help. They need to not be hit by a moving truck on Storrow Drive or Soldiers Field in Boston & Memorial Drive in Cambridge. Plan your move in day route accordingly & watch for the signs!

Snow is expected to continue during the evening commute and driving conditions may be challenging. As our @MassDOT colleagues are out plowing the roads, please remember to leave plenty of space between you and the plows! #Noreaster
Here's our forecast for additional snowfall. We expect snow to quickly taper off after midnight. It will be a difficult evening commute in many areas. Winds will also become gusty later this afternoon through the evening. Could result in additional power outages.

A lot of great work went into getting this legislation over the finish line and Massachusetts roadways will be safer because of it. Improvements for vulnerable road users, speed limits, and truck safety devices amongst other things.
MA drivers must now stay 4ft away from "vulnerable road users," including pedestrians & cyclists. According to the state’s database, 430 people were killed in car crashes in 2022, including 99 pedestrians & 10 cyclists (⬆️ from 418 in 2021, 336 in 2019).

Some heavy snow coming down in Western Mass and along the NH border. MassDOT crews are treating roadways but you should expect slippery conditions. If you are going out in those areas to do some last minute shopping or traveling today it will be better later this evening

It's National Public Works Week and the @MassDOT Highway Division is hosting a Touch A Truck event between 10-2 across the state today. This is a great kid-friendly event where kids can get up close with some of our heavy equipment.
