It isn’t just science just not acknowledging how disabling hEDS is.. their lack of urgency… it’s society deciding our suffering isn’t “urgent enough” to prioritize. It’s society saying: if you’re not dying fast, your slow suffering doesn’t matter. If your illness doesn’t fit

Was just prompted to give feedback on Microsoft Co-pilot. I was scathing. I have no idea how it is meant to help people. Nothing that it suggests it can 'help' me do are tasks that I need help with. Who is this for?

For the period 1995 to 2015, finance industry made a negative contribution of ÂŁ4,500bn to the UK economy. Nearly two years GDP was wiped out and living standards have not recovered. But UK govts are again deregulating. It won't end differently. https://t.co/j6mosm6zW7

"Jazz" from 1978. Some of my favourites are on this album. Who doesn't like "Fat-bottomed girls" or "Bicycle Race"? But "Don't Stop Me Now" speaks to me on a whole other level.

So, "A Day At The Races" had some good tunes. My faves were "Tie Your Mother Down", "You Take My Breath Away", & (of course) "Somebody to Love". But there is no denying that "News of the World" (1977) starts out hard w/ "We Will Rock You". I bet it'll carry on in the same way.

Now playing "A Day At The Races" (1976). Queen are in full swing here, with powerful vocals, rocking riffs, and rolling rhythms.

Bohemian Rhapsody. What a song. What. A. Song. Beloved by so many, that the Muppots did a version. Which is also amazing. https://t.co/2My5J6gVXw

Only a few songs in and "You're My Best Friend" is such a tune. Catchy, charming, and with little soaring vocal elements that leave average humans without a chance of capturing the song in karaoke. But I love it, even if I can never hope to achieve it.

Now onto a heavy hitter album. "A Night At The Opera" (1975) contains some absolute bangers. There're 2 versions of the album on Spotify. I've gone for the one that contains a few extra remastered and live tracks because I like those songs and I want to spend time with them.

I've been listening while working. Not many of the songs have stood out, grabbed my attention, commanded my interest. Still, "Sheer Heart Attack" is a pretty good album and could easily be one I put on often. A bit epic, some silly departures, some classic Freddie voice.

Next up - "Sheer Heart Attack", also from 1974. I'm always amazed by the productivity of some bands in the 60's & 70's. I mean, I'm no musician but I would struggle to produce more than one big project within a calendar year - much less one with a big hitter like "Killer Queen".

Queen II is a bit more of a vibe for me. I like "Ogre Battle", "Nevermore", and "See What a Fool I've Been". Some of these could probably become songs I really love, but none are super familiar. At least not yet.

Right so. On to Queen II next, from 1974. But first I have to scroll through a BUNCH of remastered album versions, live album versions, etc.

So far, no complaints. But "Liar" is the first song that really calls out to me, that feels like a friend, that sounds familiar. But there are 5 songs left on this debut album, so who knows what else I might have been missing.

Howdy, folks! Decided to do another #AlbumParty. This time it is Queen! I will almost certainly also include Freddie Mercury's other work (I LOVE the song Barcelona) but probably won't carry on to Queen + and all the live albums put out after Mercury's death.

I tested positive for COVID, despite wearing a good mask last week while at a conference. Le sigh. This is the 1st time that I have ever actually tested positive for COVID. I got all the vaccines that I was able to get, so hopefully it will be relatively mild and short.
