This was one of my favorite projects to put together! A novel approach to a clinically meaningful idea that introduces a new clinically actionable target. Great collab with an awesome team of investigators from around the globe! Stay tuned; more coming soon on this topic...

This recent study evaluated a new approach to quantify the discordance between actual and perceived #balance ability, and authors found that their discordance measure was highly related to retrospective fall history in people with #Parkinsons disease. https://t.co/YHTyFPQgwf

Excited to share a paper looking at the relationship between perceived and actual balance, and how it relates to falls: https://t.co/yI8P7xGIZN Also, Andrew Hooyman made this cool interactive app based on the data! https://t.co/ArnuKQEKEI @JK_Longhurst @martima80

I am super excited for recent DPT grad and current PhD trainee in my lab @Sarcarll on her first first-author manuscript recently published! We integrated robust dual-task metrics with MRI to better understand the neural contributions to "automatic" motor behaviors in PD.

Excited to see former lab member @pipelinetoPTPhD get her first, first-author paper published! We showed that arm swing asymmetries during dual-task gait were predictive of declines in cognition after 2 years among individuals with Parkinson's disease.

#APTACSM also reinforced what a great group of people I get to work with in the @slunibteam. Watching the trainees and students on my team confidently and competently present the work we have conducted was tremendously gratifying.

Had a great time at #APTACSM in Boston! It was wonderful to catch up with colleagues and friends. I am so grateful to have such a supportive network of clinician-scientists who not only make a difference with their science but are wonderful people too.

Scientists discovered that when people do two things at once, like walking and thinking, their abilities are somewhat connected. This is especially true for moving skills like walking and thinking skills like planning.
